Shetland Centreline
I have just added a page in the chapter 5 area on Thing Places, so far the location of Law Ting Holm island relative to the main islands north-south axis. The idea of Centrism was strong with the Scandinavians and northern Europeans and modern tools like Google Earth can be used to find a suitable centre without surveying the land. The traditional thing places are revealed as following some canon of principles, sometimes north-south, sometimes longest distance and not always in the middle of such lines.
